About the Filmore New Orleans
The Fillmore New Orleans’ design is inspired by its iconic San Francisco grandfather with historic psychedelic 1960s charm and giant crystal chandeliers. The venue is mainly standing room with stadium seating behind the sound booth. Additionally, it has a VIP section with a 1,000-guest capacity. The venue also has two bars serving beer, cocktails, and food.
Paying Tribute to the Past
The main lobby of the Fillmore New Orleans has a mural of jazz legend Louis Armstrong, painted by Scott Guion. Next to Mr. Armstrong is the VIP Entrance to BG’s Lounge, named after Filmore founder Bill Graham. The lounge also has a private bar and serves upscale food.
Throughout the Filmore, there are numerous odes to New Orleans, including wrought Iron, tin ceiling tiles around the bars, and a neon fleur-de-lis in the main hall.
“We’ve always viewed New Orleans as one of America’s truly great music cities,” said Alex Rosen, marketing and promotions manager at the Fillmore New Orleans.

Live Nation, owner of the Filmore New Orleans, believes its other music venue House of Blues, is a great starting ground for upcoming musicians and a way to build relationships with musicians as they grow in popularity and eventually need a larger space like the Filmore.
“This gives us the opportunity to work with musicians as they progress in their careers, where one day someone could be playing solo in the House of Blues restaurant or Foundation Room, and a few years later, have grown into a successful band that can fill a space like the Fillmore,” Rosen said. “It’s really exciting and rewarding to work with and support an artist that long, especially in a city filled with so many amazing artists.”
